How do I receive the photographs?

My workflow is completely digital so you will receive - by email - high resolution, digital files from the shoot. I will also send you a set of the images that have been resized and are ready for publishing on the web.

How do I prepare for my session?

Getting a good night’s sleep, staying hydrated, avoiding excessive alcohol the day before – these are all good tips for arriving at your headshot session ready to look great. But I know life gets in the way. If you’re fitting this into a hectic schedule, just follow this downloadable PDF on what to wear, show up, and let me do the rest. It really doesn’t need to be stressful.

Where is your studio?

I’m in Karori, Wellington. A short bus, cycle or drive from the city centre

What if I'm not photogenic?

Everyone is photogenic. When people don’t look good in photos it’s more to do with them being uncomfortable or nervous. I’ll guide you through the process to make sure you are relaxed, and you’ll find that you enjoy it. If we take a picture we don’t like, we’ll delete it!

Can I select the background?

Of course! Based on your skin and hair colouring, and your chosen wardrobe, I can advise on what works best for the mood you want to create. I can also create custom colours as needed for corporate branding.

Do you photograph groups?

Yes. My on-location services can include group shots for an unlimited number of people. In my studio I can accommodate small groups only. Let me know what you need and ask for a quote.

Can you come to our home, office or place of work?

Absolutely! This is the most convenient option if you need family portraits or professional headshots for your team or company. I can also shoot at your project location, office or site. Let me know where you are based and how many people are in the team and I will give you quote.

What does retouching mean?

Retouching headshots is about quality control. Every tiny detail is assessed; if it is distracting, it gets removed. Temporary blemishes, stray eyebrows, pet hairs, etc, are all dealt with so that the focus remains on your expression. All images are optimised for brightness, colour and contrast.

Can I buy extra retouched images?

Yes, no problem! They are $60 each

Do you use AI?

No. With 30+ years experience taking photographs, I know that there is little worse than an portrait that has been obviously AI-edited!
